Community for the Advancement of Family Education (CAFE) is Hiring a Youth Engagement Coordinator Near Wenatchee, WA

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITY

CAFÉ is looking for an energetic, self-motivated, and experienced Coordinator passionate about empowering youth and families with the tools they need to thrive. Our YES! program embodies this mission by providing educational and enriching experiences, enabling school-aged kids in our community to catch up on missed schooling, engage in fun community activities, access behavioral health services, and build strong bonds within their schools and neighborhoods. As the YES! Program Coordinator, you'll work closely with our Programs Manager and Education Program Coordinator to craft, organize, execute, and oversee CAFÉ's YES! Programs and initiatives in our region. In collaboration with CAFÉ Academy and Northwest Family Services, the program coordinator will launch the YES! Program, introducing impactful initiatives aimed at enriching the lives of youth and families in Wenatchee.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Develop and implement initiatives that empower youth from low-income and underrepresented backgrounds, providing resources and support to enhance their educational, social, and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with parents and young people of color to co-create and implement inclusive youth programs, ensuring their voices and perspectives are central to program development.
  • Cultivate strong community partnerships and engage with local organizations to address equity gaps and foster a sense of belonging among youth from underserved backgrounds.
  • Develop and deliver youth programming, including planning, organizing, and facilitating seminars, presentations, and workshops according to youth needs, community equity gaps, and social justice topics.
  • Lead program participation and data tracking by collecting information from youth, parents, community partners, and local school districts.
  • Develop positive relationships with school districts and community partners through effective communication and efficient program coordination.
  • Other duties as assigned

Additional duties:

  • Represent CAFE at community events to build relationships and partnerships with other organizations and community members.
  • Participate in a team rotation to staff events hosted by CAFE including commuter outreach events, business forums, seminars, and other engagements
  • Participate in community organizing efforts to provide CAFE and community information and resources;
  • Support organization projects as requested by the Executive Director and/or Programs Manager;
  • Complete required reports and data entry

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated experience and competencies in working with youth and children in an equitable and culturally responsive manner.
  • Familiarity with issues relevant to the Latinx and communities of color, “at risk” and immigrant populations.
  • Strong communication, outreach, and teamwork skills.
  • High level of computer literacy including, MS Office Suite, Google Services and calendaring
  • Fluency in Spanish and English required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of youth development theories, particularly current trends in fostering youth's sense of belonging and engagement.
  • Associates degree or above.

PERKS:

As a part of the CAFE team you will receive a $30 wellness/health stipend after 90 days of employment.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
